Biografía

The band journey began when Javier left the mountains of Patagonia, to move to Australia. He was working at a coffee shop, where he served Rocky Rochelli (Drummer). They talked and shared their love for music and the passion for a better world when Rocky asked him if he wanted to come around for a jam, sparking the first rhythm. Not long after, Rocky called Sam Betts (Bass) and asked him to join for a Reggae sesh. Noticing how soulful the band’s potential was, he also called Will Ferguson (Lead Guitar), who jumped on to establish what was the first “Wave”.

During one of their gigs, a very gifted multi-instrumentalist got on the stage to rip a Sax solo, inspiring Javier to ask Chris Ryan (Keys, Sax, Flute, Clarinet, Bagpipes and more) to join the Wave.

A year later, Sam sends Javier a video of a young Keyboarder. The charisma and flowy style captivated him, making Liam Gildea (Keys) the sixth member of the band.

Together, they create a rich and magnetic sound that is charged with experience, friendship and soul.

Javier & The Wave is a high-vibe fusion of Reggae, Rock, R&B, and Latin Music band, led by Chilean frontman Javier Rocha. Born from a love of nature, culture, and hopes for humanity, their music carries messages of freedom, unity, and joy, resonating from Australia to South America, New Zealand, and beyond.

Known for their 'feel-good' original tracks, a big sold-out album release show in their hometown (Orange), and their sold-out Bob Marley tribute shows, the band (with Rocky, Sam, Will, Chris and Liam) creates an unforgettable experience that leaves their listeners feeling inspired and uplifted.
